and like, i understand that texts like the bible are meant for interpretation. i’ve read countless biblical text analysis’, but i just do not see how applying modern day queer theory to the bible to make it “seem LGBT friendly” when the same words have been used to harm people is directly useful to LGBT youth and LGBT adults who are in the church and face violence/ persecution/ get told they are sinners going to hell by every religious institution they’ve ever been a part of. i don’t see how we can move to a better place until we accept the flaws in the source material instead of trying to act like it was all actually “secretly good n friendly.”
