God pretty much invalidates the gender binary with Galatians 3:28: “there is neither male nor female”

1 Corinthians Chapter 7 is literally just talking about how God favors asexuals bc they’re more like him (and like, if you absolutely have to have sex, make sure it’s consensual) 

In Matthew 19:12, Jesus (albeit vaguely) talks about accepting trans people

Jesus speaks out again ableism literally every five seconds pick up a Bible and flip to somewhere in the new testament and I promise you there will be something about it. 

Also Jesus dying on the cross overrides all the rules established in Leviticus, which is pretty much the only instance of anti-lgbt sentiment in the whole book

and that’s the gospel truth 

that galatians passage is not invalidating the gender binary, omg. it’s about how “everyone is one under jesus christ no matter what/ we are all descendants of abraham and heir to the divine promise” the entire bible is incredibly strict about the binary roles of women and men

that corinthians chapter is about how god loves and honors righteous celibacy, not asexuality.

matthew 19:12 is about divorce/ celibacy/ castration and even subtextually has nothing to do with Jesus accepting trans people.

the only thing this post got right was 1. jesus being an advocate for the disabled 2. jesus’ crucifixion did mean in short terms that levitical law are for the children of israel and not applicable to christians today (note christians, i’m catholic, i do not know what that implies for jewish people.. to suggest that there no jewish people who don’t still abide by the holiness code would be incorrect) 

but please stop decontextualizing the bible to make it out as “super duper progressive and LGBT friendly” when it is absolutely not, thus hugely invalidating how this material has been used by the religious/ the church to enact violence against LGBT people for hundreds of years……
