the Ann steel album is a relic and holy outlier and im consistency fascinated with the way it was presented to the world bc Robert cacciapaglia wrote and produced all the music on that record, had Steve prestage do the mixing, but it was very much his realization- then brought Ann in, a fashion model, to literally just be the voice and face of the album and create a completely contrived sense of pop authorship. It’s really odd and ahead of its time in so many ways.
