Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes #29
I continue my review of the Threeboot Legion over on the Legion of Super-Bloggers site. Here is a link of the review: http://ift.tt/2c14SCQ
Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes #29 is a very interesting issue for this run for a number of reasons.
For one, the creative team are pinch hitters. Writer Tony Bedard (well known to Supergirl fans for several well received runs) steps in for Mark Waid. The art is done by Kevin Sharpe rather than Barry Kitson. And the two deliver an interesting war comic, focusing on the other side.
This issue we see things from the viewpoint of the Dominators, specifically the Dominion scientist who genetically enhanced their shock troopers. This Dominator feels their culture has stagnated. And he will incite war as a way to rock the foundations of their beliefs.
Their isn't much Legion action in this book. Supergirl is only seen in the background.
But if you want to read a comic from the villain's perspective ... if you want to hear someone who looks at his society as holding back the race rather than advancing it ... this issue is a fascinating read. It is probably widely available in buck boxes in comic stores around the country.
It is well worth a $1.
