hey man, I wanna read X-Men comics but I have like, no ideas of where to start, any suggestions?

How far back you want to go? There are several jumping on points to read about the X-Men. If you feel like going old school I recommend The Uncanny X-Men Omnibus Vol. 1,2 and 3. with masterful work by Christ Claremont and a line-up of powerhouse old school artists like Dave Cockrum and John Byrne. For a 90′s fix I recommend the plain “X-Men” Omnibus by Jim Lee and Chris Claremont. For a more contemporary take set in the early 2000′s you can go with Mark Millar’s “Ultimate X-Men” with the paperbacks for “The Tomorrow People”, “Return to Weapon X” and “World Tour”, and last but not least, the incredibly freaking awesome X-Men Omnibus by Grant Morrison which is a very self contained tale and it’s a blast to read.
