Initial Notes: Detective Comics #32 (October 1939)

Beginning with this issue, I will no longer be reading Spy. It's always been pretty boring, but since Sally was cut, we don't even get to see any amusing interaction between her and Bart.

Batman

Basically, the Monk turns out to be a vampire. Batman melts a silver statue with a candle (!), forms it into a bullet, then shoots the vampire dead. Fiancee rescued, vampire slain, story over.

Bad story. Ridiculous. Pointless.

Slam Bradley

It transpires that Slam is hired to chase out some ghosts haunting a hotel. Slam and Shorty have various misadventures, and in the end it turns out that the hotel owner was just playing a practical joke on them.
