In 1955, MAD comic, with its 24th issue, changed from a comicbook to
a magazine in a move to bypass the COMICS CODE, which didn't apply
to the latter format. So here's the cover of the first issue of the new Mad,
which retained the numbering from its original imcarnation - making it #1
and #24 at the same time. Mad, isn't it?
