I feel much more defensive about Sylvia Plath’s brand of post humous martyrdom than say a Kurt Cobain or even Ian Curtis because you all wretchedly deny her legacy any agency whereas when men die their legacies are vehicles and the same guy who says you can’t speak ill of David Foster Wallace without “being disrespectful” will go home and listen to the Antlers sing “Sylvia get your head out of the oven” and think nothing of it you’re all wretched and hateful
