The subject is very touchy. I’ll share actual opinions about it with you. I hope you or any of my followers won’t get offended. First of all I have to ask: are you asking about “respect” money wise? or treatment in general? …tell you what I’ll comment on both:
I don’t know (or understand) why in the first world people has such fascination and gives such an importance to how much a person makes in money when he or she are being paid to entertain you. The way I see it they are getting paid to do a job and they negotiate their conditions. If they strike it big, they have more room to ask for more and negotiate better deals. I think that’s how it works in America. I have yet to see Scarjo, Rosario Dawson or Gwynett Platrow coming out to the press saying Marvel has treated them in a shitty way. I’ve seen more drama made over that made by men. As far as I know these women has been treated respectfully and accordingly to their roles in these films and series receiving training, getting extras for dangerous scenes and royalties cuts if their contracts calls for it. I think specialized press is the one that make all this noise about this because it helps them with the revenues from clicks and viewership from this easily outraged audience of these times.
I mean… look at the latest scandal: every media outlet was outraged because Gal Gadot got paid 300.000k to play Wonder Woman. This was a cause for outrage for every major internet media outlet. But the actress herself. She didn’t say squat about it. Of course no one took a moment to research the fact that Henry Cavill made the same amount for Man Of Steel (because it was his first film in a franchise) or that Chris Evans and RDJ made the same amount for Cap 1 and the first Iron Man respectively for the same reason (I think RDJ made a little more). And they ALL renegotiated their deals after the first film. With Gal’s is gonna be tricky because they had a HUGE hit with Wonder Woman and they didn’t sing neither Gal nor Patty Jenkins for the sequel so Warner is gonna have to pay some heavy cash to have their talent back. But the final nail on this (at least for me) is: Why care about how much people who are already fringing millionaires do for each film? I don’t see a point in caring about that, I care only about three things: that they can act, that they can be respectful and truthful to the source material and that they deliver a good film.
I hope this clarifies your question.
