“I’ve built sets all over the world and this is the only one that’s never been knocked down.” – production designer Wolf Kroeger on creating the town of Sweethaven on the island of Malta for director Robert Altman’s 1980 musical Popeye. The one-time filming locale has since become a year-round tourist attraction known as Popeye Village.
